Hurricane Hone in Kailua Kona Update -We’re Good!

Aloha everyone! 🌴 Your 365 Hawaii Storm Chasers are on the scene this Sunday morning to bring you the latest updates on Hurricane Hone as it moves past Hawaii Island.

Rainy Kona Morning: It’s been raining since 2:00 AM, and the weather is a mix of medium rain and calm seas. 🌧️
Surprise Hurricane: Hurricane Hone turned into a hurricane by just 1 mph! Winds reached up to 75 mph as it passed by, with wind hitting 45 mph in Waimea. 💨

Island-Wide Impact: While Kona remains relatively calm, other parts of the island have faced significant rain and wind. We’re seeing some flooding and wind damage, particularly on the east side. 🌪️
Looking Ahead: Hurricane Gilma has strengthened to a Category 4, but it’s expected to weaken before reaching us. Stay tuned for more updates! 📡
