Volcano Village is known as the gateway community to Volcanoes National Park, one of the most visited places on Hawaii Island. Did you know it has a thriving artists community? And an award winning bed and breakfast, Kilauea Lodge and Restaurant? We take you on a 36 hour adventure to Volcano, show you the lodge and restaurant, an exceptionally clear day in the national park along with the Thurston Lava Tube with no one inside, and the art galleries we discovered by bike!
If you want to book a night or five at the Kilauea Lodge, go here: https://www.kilauealodge.com
They offer add ons, including Volcano Winery wine in your room and a scrumptious picnic lunch with a blanket that you can take anywhere on your adventures around the area.

We had such a great time, and much of it was due to the incredible hospitality and aloha spirit of the staff and management at the Lodge. The gift shop there is a treasure unto itself and the manager’s office holds a gem of a leader, Janet Coney, who has been with the lodge for decades. She gave us maps of the galleries, helped me get a coveted art piece at the lodge and made sure our room was fantastic. Mahalo!
