Owning a condo in Hawaii is becoming a reality for more homebuyers as single family home prices continue to rise. If you have been following our work here, we have created a few condo videos over the years discussing the various aspects of what goes into buying a condo – HOA fees, dues, governance, dealing with neighbors, Covenants, Rules and Restrictions, and more.
The Hawaii Real Estate Commission (HIREC) just released the first six segments of its new, locally-produced “Hawaii Condo Living Guide” video series to publicly deliver important information on condominiums, primarily to current and prospective condo owners, their boards and real estate licensees. These short-segment videos are available on the DCCA YouTube channel.
Topics include:
- Important things to know about purchasing a condo
- New condo owners in Hawaii
- Owners rights and responsiblities
- Board of Directors
- Common Governance Issues
- Dispute resolution
This educational effort is funded by funds from the Condominium Education Trust Fund (CETF), Real Estate Commission, Professional and Vocational Licensing Division, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, State of Hawaii, for condominium unit owners whose associations are registered with the Real Estate Commission.
We think we do a pretty awesome job..but when the Department of Consumer Affairs shares info..people should listen!
