Alii Drive in Kailua-Kona Returns to Two-Way Traffic: What You Need to Know

It’s official- the controversial Ali’i Drive one way through Kailua Village trial is over. On June 16th, you can drive both ways on Ali’i and not get stuck in traffic on Hualalai or be backed up on Kuikini.
In this video we discuss what’s next. Because we STILL need to find solutions to the paid parking headache in Kailua Village. There ARE solutions at play!

We break down:

🚗 Mayor Alameda’s plans to provide free parking downtown.
🅿️ The plan to make Hale Halawai parking available when the building is not in use.
🔄 Long-term solutions like partnering with hotels and lot owners.

If you want to be part of the conversation and learn more about solutions and HOPEFULLY the ordinance that the Fix Paid Parking in Kona group has crafted for the County to review, join the Facebook group~ Fix Paid Parking in Kona.
