🌊 Kua Bay Sand Report | February Update
Aloha, friends! ☀️ Today, we’re bringing you a real-time sand report from Kua Bay on the Big Island of Hawaii. If you’re planning a visit, you might notice something different—where did all the sand go? 🤔
🏖️ What’s Happening at Kua Bay?
Winter high surf has pulled much of the soft white sand offshore.
Visitors are finding limited beach space, with many perched on the rocky ledges.
Seasonal currents will eventually bring the sand back—sometimes in March, sometimes as late as May.
🐋 Whale Watching Alert!
We spotted three whales cruising along the coastline today! This is a fantastic time to see them, so keep an eye out for those telltale spouts.
⚠️ Safety Tips:
Be mindful of lava rock formations and small caves near the shoreline.
Keep an eye on kids—waves can create unexpected hazards.
Use the path behind the lifeguard stand to navigate the beach in winter.
