Hawai’i Island is celebrating spring with calmer seas, sand coming back and visitors here for Spring Break. March is also known in Kailua Kona for the annual Kona Brewers Festival and 5k Run for the Hops, both fundraisers for local non-profits. The news this year, is that this beloved event, which has been bringing beer enthusiasts together for 30 years, will be ending its run. It may come back in a new version in the future, but for now, get tickets if you want the last ocean side opportunity with a mug and a plate surrounded by hundreds of people.
