Everyone who lives in Kailua Kona, lives on the side of Hualalai volcano on Hawaii Island. BUT, hardly anyone gets to go up and see what the top looks like, as it is private land. The only way to go, legally, is to hire a guide or go with a tour company. So, we did! We have been wanting to hike on the volcano for years, always looking up to the summit, wondering what is it like at the top. It is amazing, vast, rugged, and full of deep craters, only hinting at the various eruptions that this volcano has experienced in the past 1000 years.
The tour we took can be booked at https://www.uluhao.com
Plant a tree, give back to the island, take part in carbon offset and regenerative tourism. And take photos..because it truly an amazing and special place!
