🌧️ Hawaii Storm Update: Heavy Rain, Flooding & Travel Disruptions 🌊
A powerful storm just swept through Hawaii, bringing nonstop rain, strong winds, and flooding across the islands. 🌪️⚡ In this video, we take you on a tour of downtown Kona and Kailua Beach Park to check out the damage and see how our community is handling the aftermath.
🔹 What We Saw:
✅ Heavy rain—up to 6 inches overnight
✅ Flooding in downtown Kona (around 2 feet in some areas)
✅ Flight disruptions—Honolulu flights were grounded, rerouted to Kona & Hilo
✅ Trees down & power outages across the island
✅ Tourists impacted, with some vacations canceled
👏 Shoutout to Hawaii County’s Public Works Department for keeping roads clear and minimizing damage!
🌊 How bad was it? While there was flooding and debris in the ocean, overall, Kona fared better than expected. We’re calling this “small kine flooding”—serious, but not catastrophic.
