We have been training to run a 10k for almost three months now and not only did we finish with a flourish, but I won my age division!!
The Race for Hops has been going for 14 years as part of the kick off to the Kona Brewers Festival. The race has been on hiatus for two years, so this was a treat to have a sanctioned race for the first time and we were ready!
This was a training race for a race that I created to run to raise money for the Kahalu’u Bay free mineral sunscreen dispenser to help visitors from wearing chemical sunscreen in the bay while they are snorkeling, which causes coral reproduction issues. Knowing I could do this run sets me up for all kinds of confidence for the March 20th run from Keauhou Bay to Kailua Bay!
