The annual Kailua Kona Community Christmas Parade is coming up on Saturday December 14th from 5-7 pm. The parade starts at the Kekuaokalani Gymnasium parking lot near the Kona aquatic center, and winds its way down Kuikini Highway to Palani and down Alii Drive through Kailua Village.
The theme for 2024 is Magical Storybook Christmas. Floats, community groups and commercial entries are encouraged to sign up now at www.ParadesInKona.com. There is a fee for commercial entries and free to non profit organizations, schools and community groups. Everyone is encouraged to bring canned food/non perishable food items to the parade for the Hawaii Island Food Basket to collect!
The Food Basket volunteers will be walking the parade route collecting food donations from the parade goers, so just come and bring your food donations with you!
The Christmas parade is made possible by the 365 Hawaii Island Community Fund who are assisting with volunteer recruitment and acting as a fiduciary for County funds to make the parades in Kona possible. If you would like to volunteer, we need help with folks blocking the entrances into the parade route, walking the route to help keep spectators safe and decorating the Santa float!
