You know Hawaii Island is a volcanic island, right? Getting into the ocean can be a challenge from shore. There are miles of coast line in West Hawaii that have white sand beaches mixed with a larger amount of black lava and sometimes a mix of both. We created this video to help you find safe, easy access to the main beaches near Kailua Kona, along with which ones have lifeguards, showers and bathrooms. We also mention ocean safety tips, as well as how to care for our bays by wearing rash guards and mineral sunscreen.
